Another meeting of the series ‘Education in 21st Century’, concerns the problem of educational sphere in connection with the purpose of building civil society. Education for the future should on one hand consider the astonishing speed of changes and the exceptional character of them on the way to civic society, on the other should promote universal rules and values which should be influencing social attitudes and behavior; among them we should count: liberty, responsibility, sovereignty, partnership, participation, solidarity, justice and creativity. The aforementioned binary determinants should outline the direction of educational cooperation and be constructively present in all spheres of education. According to strategy for promoting civic society planned for the period 2009-2015, there can be assumed that: “civic society is a sphere of activity for institutions, organizations, social groups and individuals, that starts from families and ends at the state and market, inside which people initiate a free debate on values that outline our concept of common good, as well as they cooperate to achieve common goals” (quote from: P. Frączak, M. Rogaczewska and K. Wygnański).
The purpose of the conference: - Initiating a broad discussion about cooperation towards a civil society of the future. - Characterization of the society in relation to the key problems concerning the functioning of educational spheres.
